LAPSO

I received beans in place of teeth,
I poured the blood into a bottle,
I donned my tongue to wash the dishes,
I bartered a kidney for a bar of soap,
I offered my nipple
to Saint Agatha.
I lost the curtains of skin that shutter the
bedroom.

“Lapso” is the realm of doubt and the timeframe in which the frontiers separating the body’s interior and exterior collapse. A dreamlike immersion into reality allows us to pierce the physique and reach its deepest strata, where intimacy and communal experience lay bare the viscera and bring hidden barriers to the surface.
